About the Audio
The Adventures of Eva and Duke was created for accessibility to ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi. This is for those keiki who could not read the text or had no access to the language. Through this project, we decided to ask our friends to translate the story into ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi so that we could practice, and in doing so we thought, “letʻs record the audio so we can learn how to pronounce the language correctly”. And so we did.
Note: We left out the ʻokina and kahakō out of the translation of the braille in our books because as we were translating, it made the text much longer in the books, so we followed as our kupuna did in the Nupepa, we left it out.
